Water Journeys Dec 6th 2025
Our inaugural exhibition marked the beginning of Altar Aqua Studio as a creative space where art, culture, and community converged. This first event reflected our vision of building bridges between worlds through art, light, and human connection.
The gathering celebrated art, roots, and emotion, becoming our first artistic bridge between Oaxaca and Texas.
The exhibition honored the creative soul of Oaxaca, a region where color, texture, and light weave timeless stories. Featuring works by Patricio Santiago, José Santos, and Manuel Miguel, three Oaxacan artists whose work embodies the spirit of their homeland, blending tradition, symbolism, and contemporary expression, the event brought the essence of southern Mexico to The Woodlands.
The experience was complemented by Oaxacan catering from El Alebrije, who traveled from Houston with their team and food truck, offering traditional dishes and Mexican antojos that connected guests through flavor and memory. Curated music by local musician and music producer Milo Flota added depth and rhythm to the atmosphere, creating an immersive and soulful environment.
