Featured Artist: S. Holliday

S. Holliday is a Texas-based contemporary artist whose work explores identity, perception, resilience, and the emotional architecture of the human experience.

Working primarily in acrylic, Holliday creates bold geometric compositions that blend abstraction with recognizable forms. Inspired by modernism and Cubism, her paintings use strong lines, rich earth tones, shifting perspectives, and symbolic elements to reveal the many facets of the self.

Hidden faces and interconnected forms often emerge within her compositions, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and discover multiple layers of meaning. Her creative process balances thoughtful design with intuitive and spontaneous discovery, resulting in works that are both visually striking and emotionally engaging.

Through her art, Holliday seeks to create meaningful conversations about identity, human connection, and the ways in which our experiences shape how we see ourselves and others.

As part of this fundraising event, S. Holliday will generously donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of her artwork to Donna’s Love Pet Rescue. This donation applies exclusively to artwork by S. Holliday sold during the event.

Creativity has been part of every chapter of my life. With a degree in Merchandising Management and experience as a personal shopper and corporate buyer, I developed a strong eye for style, trends, product development, and meaningful design.

After becoming a full-time mom, I began making jewelry as a creative outlet. What started as a hobby soon grew through local markets, word of mouth, and community support into Fern Home & Fashion, a woman-owned brand creating handcrafted jewelry inspired by nature, individuality, and perfectly imperfect beauty.

Today, I also enjoy teaching workshops, collaborating with local businesses, and supporting the community that helped turn a simple passion into a meaningful creative journey.

Cameras capture what happened. Great photography captures what it felt like. Our mission is simple: create images you’ll still love years from now, long after everyone has forgotten what day it was. Side effects of working with us may include excessive smiling, an unhealthy obsession with golden hour, and hearing the phrase, “Wait… that’s actually me?” more often than expected.

Artist Statement

S. Holliday

This series explores the complexity of the human experience through the intersection of Mid-Century Modern geometric abstraction and emotive expression. Drawing inspiration from the structural clarity of George Morrison and the fragmented, cubist-inspired portraiture of Pablo Picasso and Fernand Léger, my work deconstructs the human face to explore the multifaceted layers of identity. While my compositions are original, they reflect the bold, architectural spirit of the mid-20th-century avant-garde. By blending these geometric influences with my own contemporary, tactile language, I invite viewers to look beyond the surface and connect with the hidden layers of the self.

The figures within these works serve as symbols of the different roles we carry—the versions of ourselves presented to the world and the quieter parts shaped by experience, memory, and personal growth. Central to this series are the floating orbs that move through the geometric landscape. They represent the constant motion of our lives—our relationships, responsibilities, opportunities, and unseen emotional weight. They symbolize both the relentless pace of modern life and the ongoing pursuit of balance, reminding us that even amid movement and change, moments of connection and reflection remain possible.

By combining bold, structural forms with rich, layered textures, my work seeks to bridge the gap between contemporary abstraction and intimate human emotion. My hope is that each viewer discovers a personal connection within these pieces—a reflection of their own journey, memories, and inner landscape. Across these compositions, I invite you to explore the three distinct faces hidden within each work, as they reveal different facets of the human experience. This collection is an invitation to pause, observe, and find meaning within the architecture of our own lives.

I am proud to donate 50% of the proceeds from this collection to Donna’s Love Pet Rescue, as I believe the pursuit of balance and meaning in our lives extends to protecting the vulnerable souls who share our world.
