Larisa Silveira
Mixed-Media & Fiber Artist + Art Therapy Life Coach
Larisa Silveira is a mixed-media artist, educator, mental health advocate, and certified Art Therapy Life Coach whose work explores the connection between creativity, emotional well-being, and personal transformation. With a Master’s degree in Psychology from Russia, she brings together her professional background in mental health and her passion for fiber arts to create meaningful artistic and educational experiences.
Silveira believes that creative practices such as crochet and knitting can become powerful therapeutic tools. Through the repetitive and meditative movement of each stitch, participants can reduce stress, calm the mind, improve concentration, and strengthen their confidence. Her approach encourages women to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and discover creativity as a source of balance and inner support.
Her experience includes teaching crochet to Occupational Therapists at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and collaborating with Occupational and Physical Therapy professionals in rehabilitation settings. Through this work, she has demonstrated how fiber arts can support cognitive function, fine motor skills, emotional regulation, rehabilitation, and overall well-being.
As an artist, Silveira creates expressive mixed-media drawings enhanced with handmade crochet elements. By combining visual art with textile techniques, she creates layered works that provide positive stimulation for the brain while encouraging mindfulness, imagination, and emotional healing. Her practice reflects the relationship between the mind, the body, and the creative process.
Through her classes and artwork, Silveira creates welcoming spaces where women can learn new skills, connect with one another, and experience the therapeutic benefits of creativity. Her mission is to help each participant recognize that every stitch can become an opportunity for reflection, confidence, connection, and personal growth.
